STATE TESTING REVIEW SPRING 2011This is the central site for state standards.
WELCOME!

At this site there are: CD Instructions and Frequently Asked Questions
I recommend reading the attached FAQ or (frequently asked question) page. It will tell you how you are prepared for the test under the question, “Are these Standards and Indicators for programs or candidates (students, that is, you)?”

Choose CD Instructions
Then choose PC or MAC.

We need: Library Information Specialist
And
Illinois Professional Teaching Standards

The site below is great for further information on certification and endorsements.

Below is a site for state test guidebooks. You must open them online, then, you can save them if you have a jump drive or enough space on your hard drive.

You want Assessment of Professional Teaching Tests Study Guide and Library Information Specialist (175).

  1. Look at the guidebooks online. What kind of questions relate to technology?
  2. Do we have classes that taught us technology? What projects or skills did we learn? Are there overall strategies or responsibilities we need to structure technology?
  3. Look at the Library Information Information specialist standards online. These can be especially helpful describing the strategies and responsibilities we need, that in turn can be understood as specific skills.
  4. Read the State Standards!
  5. After examining these two sets of guidelines, we can then brainstorm on all our experiences at work and in class to say how we can meet these standards.
  6. All LIMS & MS syllabi include a section that relates actual assignments to standards.

Test strategy
1. Answer what you know.
2. Leave those that confuse, you there’s time.
3. Come back to these
4. Cross off the clearly wrong choices
5. Examine those left and look for something off about them. They usually fail for logical or some small reason unrelated to the actual question/standard.
